The changes became necessary after Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) failed to obtain police clearance to host games at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, in the wake of the stampede that led to 11 deaths and many injuries during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Indian Premier League (IPL) victory celebrations on 4 June.
