India defeated United Arab Emirates (UAE) by nine wickets in their Asia Cup 2025 Group A opener at Dubai. Chasing a modest target of 58, India raced to 54/1 in just four overs, with Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma batting fluently. 

Earlier, Kuldeep Yadav starred with four wickets, including three in a single over, while Shivam Dube claimed three scalps as UAE suffered a dramatic collapse. From 26/0, they were skittled out after managing to add only 31 runs, registering their lowest-ever total in Asia Cup T20 history.

It was the second-lowest, overall, in the tournament’s T20 format.

This was the first Group A game. Oman and Pakistan are the other two teams in the group.
