Keshav Maharaj Reclaims Top Spot in ODI Rankings
CricDiary: South Africa’s left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj has reclaimed the top spot in the International Cricket Council (ICC) one-day international (ODI) bowling rankings following his match-winning spell against Australia in Cairns yesterday. Maharaj bagged career-best figures of 5/33 and guided the Proteas to a thumping 98-run win and a 1-0 lead in the series. He displaced Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana to take the top spot.
The latest ODI rankings also brought good news for South Africa’s batters. Aiden Markram’s fluent half-century pushed him up four spots to no. 21, while skipper Temba Bavuma gained five places to no. 23.
