Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj Accused of Ball Tampering
CricDiary Desk: Former Pakistan fast bowler Shabbir Ahmed has accused Indian pacers Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj of ball tampering during the just-concluded fifth Test match between England and India at The Oval. England, chasing 374, were all out for 367 in their second innings. India won the Test and squared the series 2-2.
England seemed cruising to victory at one point of time with 301/3 before India staged a dramatic comeback. Siraj exploited the reverse swing expertly, dismantling England’s lower order with key wickets, while Krishna also made crucial breakthroughs. India opted to stick with the older ball, despite having the option of a new one, a strategic move that paid off handsomely. Siraj was declared the player of the match for his 9/190.

“I think India used Vaseline. After 80+ overs, the ball still shone like new. Umpires should send this ball to a lab for examination,” Shabbir wrote on X.
Shabbir has played 10 Tests and 32 one-day internationals (ODIs) for Pakistan.
Siraj climbed 12 places to grab 15th spot in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s Test Bowler rankings. Prasidh, meanwhile, moved up 25 places to rank 59th after picking up eight wickets in the 5th Test.
